Myers of Brockton August 30, 2002, Kathleen T. “Kay” (O’Grady) Myers 73 years. Beloved wife of Edmund L. Myers, Jr. Loving mother of Edmund L. Myers, III and his wife MaryBeth of So. Kingstown, RI; John M. Myers and his wife Lynanne of Raynham and Mary E. Myers of Brockton. “Grammy Kay” of Luke. Sister of the late Walter A. O’Grady, Jr.; Patricia Raiche and Philip O’Grady.

Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 10 AM. Burial in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 PM. Donations in Kay’s memory may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation 220 No. Main St. Ste. 104, Natick, MA 01760.

Obituary

Mrs. Myers died Friday evening in New England Medical Center, Boston after a brief illness. She was the wife of Edmund L. Myers, Jr. for 41 years. Kay was born in Lynn, daughter of the late Walter A. and Katherine T. (McAuliffe) O’Grady. She had been a resident of Brockton since 1965.

Kay was a graduate of Saugus High School and then studied at the Katherine Dunham School of Dance and Theater in Manhattan, New York. She became a professional dancer and appeared on Broadway in “Make Mine Manhattan”, “Red White and Blue”, and “Guys and Dolls”. She appeared on early television in The Jonathan Winters Show, The Gary Moore Show and The George Gobel Show and performed with Jimmy Durante, Bob Fosse, Joel Grey and Peter Gennaro. She also appeared at the Moulin Rouge in Hollywood as well as other major theaters throughout the country.

After leaving show business she owned and operated a successful dance studio in Lynn, Mass. Thereafter she became a wife and mother of three proud children.
