WORCESTER-Helen M. (Courchaine) Karpowicz, 85, of 59 Evelyn Street, died, Saturday, August 19 in St. Vincent Hospital. Her husband, William J. Karpowicz died in 1987. She leaves a son, William A. Karpowicz of Millbury, four grandchildren, Melissa and Gregory Karpowicz of Leicester, David and Michael Lewis of Tampa, FL, great granddaughter, Courtney Lewis, close friend, Mary Anderson of Worcester, nephews and nieces. Her daughter, Judith A. Bullard predeceased her in 2004. Her sisters and brothers also predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of Philip E. and Theresa E. (Cummings) Courchaine. Mrs. Karpowicz retired from Pressmet Corporation after many years. She was a member of St. Catherine of Sweden church and was an active volunteer in the senior community.
A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 23 at 10:00 AM in St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 1 Wiser Avenue. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
