FALL RIVER - Jose S. Aguiar, 72, of 107 Sheraton Ave., Somerset, died Friday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. The husband of Lilia C. (Raposo Da Costa) Aguiar, he is survived by two sons: Fernando J. Aguiar of Taunton, MA. and Paul J. Aguiar of Somerset, three daughters: Lilia C. Christie of Somerset, MA., Betty M. Hartford of Norwell, MA., Sally C. Aguiar of Somerset, MA., two brothers: Antone Souza Aguiar of Sao Miguel, Azores and Alvaro Aguiar of Somerset, MA, one sister: Leonilde Moniz of Canada., ten grandchildren and Several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Maria Dos Anjos Aguiar.
Born in Santo Antonio, alem Capelas, Sao Miguel, Azores, the son of the late Jose Souza Aguiar and the late Mariana(Sousa Tavares) Aguiar. He was a Somerset resident for 32 years. Before retiring, he worked in construction asphalt at Mario Susi & Sons in Dorchester. He was a member of St. John of God Church.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St. Monday at 8:00 A.M followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church, Brayton Ave., Somerset at 9:00 A.M. Internment in St. Patrick Cemetery.
