Irene S. (Doherty) Tobin a Needham resident for many years died on Saturday August 19 at the Clark House at Fox Hill Village in Westwood. She was 73 years old. Born on Boston, Mrs. Tobin grew up in South Boston and graduated from South Boston High School. Before starting her family, Mrs. Tobin worked as a bookkeeper for Boston Gas. In the 1970’s, she worked for Hogdson’s Homes in Millis. The beloved wife of the late Joseph F. Tobin, she was the dear mother of Mark J. Tobin and his wife Mary Beth of Needham and Lisa Tobin Keefe and her husband George of Medfield. Sister of Eleanor Hatfield of Clearwater Fl, Fred Doherty of Rockland and the late Joseph Doherty. Grandmother of James Tobin, Nicholas Keefe, Melissa Jones, Joseph Beaudet and Stephanie Beaudet. Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Avenue Needham on Tuesday August 22 at 9:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bartholomew Church at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours on Monday from 4-7 PM. Interment Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
