Robert K. Quinn, Sr., 75, of Winchester, died at Winchester Hospital on August 17, 2006. Born in Malden, he was the son of the late John J. and Ruth G. (Kelley) Quinn.
Raised and educated in Malden, he served with the U.S. Army in the Korean conflict. Subsequent to his service, Robert obtained his B.S. and Master’s degrees in education from Boston College.
He was a teacher at Melrose High School for forty years as an instructor for the Distributive Education Club of America (DECA) until his retirement in 1996 and was active in the communities where he lived and worked. A resident of Winchester since 1964, and a member of St. Mary’s Church, he also taught CCD there. He was a former member of the Winchester Country Club the Winton Club Cabaret Stage Club, and served as a member of the Finance Committee from 1975-1978.
The devoted husband of Marilyn (Conley) Quinn, he also leaves behind his son, Robert K., Jr. and his wife Irene L. Quinn of Leominster and 3 grandchildren, Nicole K., John J. and Emily I. Quinn.
His funeral will be held from the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St. Winchester on Monday, August 21 at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church 155 Washington St. Winchester at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. A visitation will be held in the funeral home one hour prior to the Mass from 8:30-9:30 AM. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
