Worcester: Walter J. Dauderis, in his 98th year, passed away April 26, 2025 in Lutheran Healthcare. He leaves five children and their spouses: Peter and Karen, Dean and Mimi, Bruce and Deb, Walter and Pam, and Marie and Michael. He also leaves 12 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Lucille (Hebert) Dauderis, a son Keith, and by siblings Josephine, Julia, Albert, Ruth and Charles.
Walter was born in Worcester, son of the late Peter and Theodora (Benior) Dauderis. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked for US Steel and Wire and retired from the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife. He was a member of the AFSCME, the Greendale Friends Club and the American Legion, as well as a lifetime member of the Mass Audubon Society.
He was a nature enthusiast and was known for his gardening skills. Later in life Walter enjoyed spending time and traveling with his dear companion Winifred (Winnie) Tetrault.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 from 4-7 p.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
