Michael J. LaBrecque died unexpectedly on Holy Saturday, April 19, 2025.
Michael was a devoted Catholic and a selfless man of service who offered his time and volunteer in many ways. He was always happy to bring veterans on weekends from The Bedford base to Sainte Anne's Parish where he volunteered teaching CCD, shoveling out the church, doing collections, and serving the grieving families in the funeral family room. He also volunteered for the annual Reach the Beach event providing lunches and
sharing his faith with the homeless in the Revere area.
Michael was a cook for many years at The Village Green in Danvers and Bertini’s in Salem. He spent several years working as a tire technician, bailing out many 18-wheelers at all hours of the night stranded in snowstorms.
He was a devoted father, grandfather, and loving husband who will be
missed by everyone who knew him and by his beloved and adopted cat Trixie
and his adopted and beloved cat Trixie.
Michael loved to go on long walks (sometimes up to 5 miles a day), enjoyed spending time in nature, feeding the neighborhood birds, and playing his daily numbers. He was caring and compassionate when it came to helping others. On several occasions he tended to injured wildlife crossing the street, giving them a proper burial when needed. Michael loved his Country and was a passionate Trump supporter. He was a man of great humility and loved the simple things in life. His favorite vacation spot was St. Augustine, FL.
In addition to his wife Karen M. (Masiello) LaBrecque , he is survived by his son Cameron M LaBrecque and wife Kelly of Beverly, step-son, Daniel R. Herbert of Virginia step-daughter, Melissa Hebert and son Logan Mojica of Peabody, his sister, Denise McEvoy and husband Keith of Salisbury and their son Adam Bettencourt and his wife Roisin.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visiting hours on Tuesday, April 29, , 2025 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem. His Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, April 30th at 10:30 AM in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem. Burial, at a later date, will be private.
