Joyce A. Bayuk (Biondi), affectionately known as "Joycie," passed away on April 18, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 81 years old and surrounded by her loving family in her final moments—a reflection of the deep love that defined her life.
Born on July 26, 1943, in Plainfield, New Jersey, Joyce lived a life full of grace, kindness, and unshakable faith. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. Her family was the center of her world, and she poured her heart into every role she held.
Joyce was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas Bayuk Sr., whom she married on April 27, 1962. Their marriage was a beautiful example of love and partnership that endured through the years.
She is survived by her identical twin sister, June Anne Richardson of Somerset, NJ, and her brother, Bob Biondi of Cape Coral, FL. She leaves behind her devoted children: Patricia Schlehuber and her husband Steven, , Tom Bayuk Jr. and his wife Neire, John Bayuk and his wife Enet, Jennifer Bayuk and her partner Jon Farrell, and her loving daughter-in-law Fran Bayuk.
Joycie was the proud grandmother of Tom Bayuk III and his wife Kristen, Sam Bayuk, Kassio Coutinho and his wife Jessica, Ana Brilliant and her husband Russel, and George Bayuk. She was also the cherished great-grandmother of Rayleen, Leanna, and Diago Coutinho, and Max Bayuk. She will also be deeply missed by her many beloved nieces and nephews.
Joyce and her family were the proud owners of the Village Deli in West Dennis, MA, and the Talk of the Town Café in Harwich Port, where her warmth and welcoming spirit made everyone feel at home. Later, she enjoyed spending time in the kitchen with her son Tom at Treats Catering in Dennis, always lending a hand with love.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. Joyce’s steadfast relationship with Jesus guided her through every joy and challenge, and she was a quiet but powerful source of strength and inspiration to those around her.
She found peace and happiness in her garden, among the flowers and birds she so loved. Some of her favorite moments were spent on the Nauset Outer Beach with Jennifer and Jon, or enjoying getaways with Patricia and Steven to what she lovingly called the “Hyannis Riviera.” She treasured her time with John and Enet—detailing her car, planting flowers, and listening to the gentle music of birdsong in their backyard.
Joyce will be remembered for her generosity, her joyful laughter, and the unwavering love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A celebration of her life will be held Thursday May 1, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Brewster Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in her memory to The Brewster Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
