Brian A. Johnson Sr, age 56, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family and closest friends. He was born on August 20, 1968 in Springfield, son of the late William G. Johnson and Irene (Audet) Sabadosa. Brian worked as a machine operator for Hampden Papers for over 30 years. In his early years, Brian had a passion for drag racing and won the high point Champion in the street eliminator class in 1986. He played baseball on the Tigers for the Quabbin Valley Over 30 League for many years, winning a championship as Captain of his team. Brian was an avid golfer. He loved spending time with his family and close friends, Wally, Willy and Sandra. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and keen sense of humor. He is survived by his High School Sweetheart and wife Maureen (Mahoney) Johnson; one son, Brian Johnson, Jr. and his partner Samantha Eades; one daughter, Hana Johnson; two stepdaughters, Briana Jurkowski and Brooke Jurkowski and her fiancé Nico Fernandez; one brother William Johnson, Jr. and his wife Autumn; two stepsisters, Yvette Belisle and Lorriane Belisle; one grandson Jacksyn and two step grandchildren, Miranda and James McGrath. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A private burial will take place at a later date.
