Robert C. Bissonnette, age 83, rode off peacefully into the sunset on April 20, 2025 from the Renaissance Manor in Holyoke. He was born on September 15, 1941 in Springfield, son of the late George J. Bissonnette and Evelyn (Margarites) Bissonnette. Bob served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1959 to 1965 after training at Camp Lejeune. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Springfield College in 1970. After moving to Sacramento, Bob worked as a Senior Consultant for the California Legislature. Later he had his own private lobbying firm in the state capital. Before returning to Chicopee in 1994, he also fulfilled a long time wish to actually work as a cowboy on a California ranch for a year. He is survived by his brother Michael D. Bissonnette and his wife Erin of Chicopee; his loving girlfriend Irma Randall of West Springfield along with many extended family members and friends. He is predeceased by one brother Joseph Bissonnette and two sisters, Gail Theroux and Sandra Brown. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. Committal prayers with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery for both Robert and his father George Bissonnette.
