Obituary

Tammy Altman Ricketts, 61, of Tifton, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, April 21, 2025. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service. She will be laid to rest following the service at Zion Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Tifton.  

Tammy was born on October 30, 1963, in Alma, Georgia, to the late Richard Altman and Patsy Taylor Altman. She was also preceded in death by her beloved son, Dustin Merritt, and her sister, Sandra Richardson.

Tammy lived with her heart wide open. She never met a stranger and never let anyone leave her presence without feeling seen. Her spirit was radiant, her laughter unforgettable, and her love for her family ran deep and wide.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Rodney Ricketts of Tifton; two daughters and one son-in-law, Heather Gray and Paul Howell of Ty Ty and Lindsey Badillo of Yulee, Florida; one brother and sister-in-law, Ricky Jo and Deanna Altman of Chula; three grandchildren who were the joy of her life, Ashton Gray, Ellisyn Badillo, and Atlas Badillo; and one great-grandchild, Alaska Howell. Tammy’s family was her pride and purpose, and her legacy will live on through them.

She loved children and treasured every moment spent with her grandbabies. Her heart was generous, her faith was steady, and her presence was a gift to all who knew her.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Jo Altman, Joseph Altman, Taylor Altman, Jamie Harrell, Danny Wise, Wayne Wise, Juggy Ladden, Bugg Johnson, and Tony T.

In honor of Tammy’s love for life and family, the service will be a celebration of joy and memory. Guests are encouraged to wear blue or white, symbolic of the love she carried for her son, Dustin, and the light she brought into this world.
