Anahid Savio, formerly of Palm Coast, Florida and Somerville, MA, April 19, 2025.
Anahid Hripsima (Chebookjian) Savio was born to Hrand and Vartouhi Chebookjian on November 3, 1927 in Somerville, Massachusetts. She graduated from Somerville High School, Tufts College with a B. S. degree and Simmons School of Physical Therapy. She served proudly in the U.S. Army Women’s Medical Specialist Corps as a 1st Lt. during the Korean War. She married her patient, Wayne Savio, after dating for one month.
Anahid was very active in sports during her school and military years. She was a devoted member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Palm Coast FL since 1973, active member of the Alter Guild, Craft Angels, Prayer Shawl Ministry, and Episcopal Church Women. She was happiest when mending, doing alterations, and quilting. She also enjoyed crocheting and baking. She had a special love for children. Her pantry was always stocked with snacks for the neighborhood children.
She leaves behind to mourn her, nephews Richard (Karolyn) Chebookjian, Diran Koroghlian, Armen (Debbie) Koroghlian, nieces Sema (Paul) Arakelian and Susan Chebookjian, grandniece Anoush Arakelian and nephews Armen and Varoujan Koroghlian and Armen Arakelian and many loving cousins. She is also survived by her dear stepson Wayne Savio II, grandchildren Russell, Deborah, and Benjamin and 5 great grandchildren. Also, her daughter-in-law Margie Poage, Grayson (Shelby), Isabella (Jacob), Veronica, Christopher, and Kimberly.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Lt. Col. Wayne Savio, her brother Shant Chebookjian, sister Arpie Koroghlian, stepsons Bruce and Greg, and granddaughter Rebecca Waters.
