Obituary

Minas (Maurice) Ourfalian of Watertown passed away peacefully with his family by his side on April 17 at the age of 100. Beloved husband of Jacqueline (Taslakian) Ourfalian. Devoted father of Cheryl Smith and her husband Larry, and Deborah Stasio and her husband Richard. Loving Grandfather of Jacqueline, Jason and Karina. Brother of the late Margaret Hanesian and the late Vera Boghosian. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Born in Iskenderun, Turkey, on April 13, 1925, Minas later moved to Beirut, Lebanon. In 1955, he fulfilled a lifelong dream of coming to America, a place he saw as a land of opportunity and hope. In 1960, he returned to Lebanon, where he met the love of his life, Jacqueline. Together they settled in Watertown, Massachusetts, and began building a life and family rooted in love and dedication.

In 1966, Minas made it his mission to reunite Jacqueline with her family, arranging for her parents and siblings to immigrate to the United States. It was just one of many examples of his selflessness and enduring commitment to those he loved.

A tireless worker, Minas devoted his life to providing for his family. He was proud of his heritage and cherished telling stories of the old country, always eager to share memories and lessons from his past. His greatest joy came from seeing his family happy and thriving. Above all, he was proud—proud of where he came from, of what he built, and of the family he held so dear.

Minas leaves behind a legacy of faith, love and resilience – marked by his deep devotion to God and unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
