Obituary

Edward L. Gallo, Jr., 78, a lifelong resident of Worcester died Friday, April 18th in Fitchburg Health Care surrounded by his family. He leaves a sister, Lois M. Ward and her husband, Thomas of Jefferson, NH; three nephews, Thomas Ward, Steven Ward, and Colby Black; a grandniece and several cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Judy A. Black.
He was born in Worcester, the son of Edward L. Gallo, Sr. and Rose M. (Imbimbo)Gallo. Edward was a proud graduate for the former Classical High School, Class of 1964. He went on to earn his degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1968, where he was a member of the ROTC program. Following graduation, he honorably served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
After his military service, Edward dedicated many years of his professional life working as a chemist for the City of Worcester. He was a faithful member of the Christ the King Church and an active member of the Tatnuck Post 288.
Edward cherished his memories of growing up in the Tatnuck neighborhood and held a deep appreciation for the community and the friendships that shaped his early years.
He will be remembered for his quiet dedication, his service to his country and community, and the fondness he carried for his roots.
His funeral will be held on Monday, April 28th with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street, Worcester followed by burial in St. John's Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester. There are no calling hours.
