Mark William Fitzgerald, 74, a resident of Wrentham and formerly of Franklin, passed away on April 16, 2025 at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Boston.
Born in Boston on October 23, 1950, the son of Lorena (Duquette) Fitzgerald of Franklin and the late John Fitzgerald, Mark was a graduate of Franklin High School and University of Lowell. Mark was an early entrepreneur who owned and operated the Carpet Gallery of Foxboro for many years.
Mark was a friend to everyone he met. He particularly enjoyed poker games, watching golf and Boston sports teams, playing with his grandchildren, living the lake life in Wrentham, and beach vacations in Humarock, MA.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children, Christopher Fitzgerald and his wife Courtney of Harvard, Keri Fitzgerald of Wrentham, two grandchildren, and his former spouse Kathleen Fitzgerald of Meredith, New Hampshire.
He is survived by his siblings John (Jack) Fitzgerald Jr. of Holbrook, Maureen and her husband Jack Dedominici of Bellingham, Rosanne Lyons of West Springfield, Marie and her husband Rick Opera, Joan and her husband David Burgess of North Attleboro, Barbara and her husband Stephen Fossey of Natick, and many nieces and nephews. Mark is predeceased by his brother-in-law James Lyons of West Springfield.
His funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 26 in St. Mary’s Church in Franklin at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be at a later date.
