Obituary

Carol A. (Jachowicz) (Scibilia) Wellman, age 88, of Lowell, passed away at Lowell General Hospital on Thursday, April 17, 2025.

Born in Lynn on December 18, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Jachowicz and the late Genevieve (Kozlowski) Jachowicz.

Carol graduated from St. Mary Parochial High School and the Burdette Business School.

She was employed as an administrative assistant by the Raytheon Corporation in Bedford until her retirement. After retiring from Raytheon, she worked for several years as a sales associate for the Marshalls Clothing Store.

Carol was a Bingo enthusiast and enjoyed playing at the Lowell Senior Center, the Tewksbury Senior Center, and at Saint William’s Church. She always loved a family party where she could connect with her family with a glass of wine. She enjoyed reading, shopping for bargains, and “Murder, She Wrote”.

She is survived by her children, Stephen Scibilia, Diane Burnett and her husband Richard, Laurie Bonaventura and her husband Fernando, Jack Scibilia and his wife Joan, Scott Scibilia and his wife Christine Giacobbi, Lisa Cummings and her husband Charles, and Jeanne Wehbi and her husband Fayez: nine grandchildren, Zoë, David, Victoria, Scott, Chelsey, Jessica, Charles, Josef and Isabella: seven great grandchildren, Jacob, Lucas, Benjamin, Edison, Madison, Callum and Liam.

Carol was the widow of Walter Wellman and sister of the late Patricia Conley.

Calling hours are Tuesday, April 22, from 9-11 a.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury, followed by her funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main Street, Route 38, Tewksbury. Services will conclude with interment at St. Mary Cemetery, 90 River Road, Tewksbury.
