Annie M. (McCormack) Anderson, 89, a longtime resident of Medway, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Cornerstone at Milford Assisted Living. She was the beloved wife of John J. Anderson who died in 1986.
Born in Drumshanbo, Ireland on September 7, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Elizabeth McCormack.
Annie grew up in Drumshanbo and came to the United States at the age of 16. She worked at the telephone company in New York where she met her husband, John, and moved to Chicago in 1968, finally settling in Medway in 1971 where she raised her three children.
Annie was a homemaker for most of her life and enjoyed ceramics and day trips with family and friends. She loved spending time with her family. She was always so welcoming and lived a happy and joyful life.
She is survived by her son Kevin Anderson and his wife Debbie, her daughter Nuala Wenzel and her husband Jeff, and her daughter-in-law Caroline Anderson, all of Medway. Annie was the mother of the late Sean Anderson.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Beth and her husband Trevor, Jacke, Emily and her husband Krys, Ciara, Kelsey and her husband Matt, Haley, James, Jeffery and Austin, and four great-grandchildren, Landon, Finn, Madelyn and Myles.
Annie also leaves her brother Hubert McCormack of Ireland and her sister Mary Foley of Chicago.
She was the sister of the late Peggie Moran and Thomas McCormack.
Annie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile and welcoming hello to all she met.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass on Friday, April 25 at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 10 a.m. Burial will take place privately at St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway.
