Our King, Jose (Che) Manuel Echevarria born June 19, 1944 in Patillas, Puerto Rico and was called to his eternal home on Friday, April 11, 2025 in Boston, Mass.
Nuestro Rei, tenia muchos nombres…Jose, Che, Pa,Titi, Pop, Welo, hermano, tio, compai y amigo; pero el mas poderoso fue PADRE. Un hombre de tremenda fuerza siempre en mente de solo familia. Sus hijos, nietos, bisnietos y hasta ellos que no son de sangre sintieron, los abrazo, extendiendo sus manos y su corazon a todos. Nuestro Rei, que gozes en el cielo con Jesus y tu familia. Hasta que nos volvemos a ver.
Jose was a quiet, reserved man, who loved to dance with his grandbabies. He never lost his cool but would do anything to protect his family. Every Friday, he would bring home food so not only his family, but anyone that was over would enjoy spending time together watching baseball or playing dominos instead of having to cook.
Jose was a man with many talents, working hard to provide for his family and loved ones throughout his lifetime. He fought effortlessly to remain here with us, close to his loved ones. We praise and thank the Lord so much for when the doctors called his family in January 2025 to say he was leaving us, the Lord stepped in and said “not so”. He received so much love, care and attention until the Lord, not the doctors called him home.
Jose (Che) is survived by his children, Marisol (Brendalys, Tymeisha, Thaleea) Carmen (Adrianna, Camren), Grizel (Drequawn, Daelyn), Jorge (Deyline, Malaki, Makala) and Beatriz (Miguel, Cynthia, Jhovon) and departed son Carlos (Jalyssa, Sarah, Lauren) and departed amazing mother of his children and our Queen Sol Angelica in heaven. Jose continues his legacy of great grands and countless others who are not related by blood but loved just the same.
Jose (Che) leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion and strength.
