Ruth M. Lentini, of Wilmington and a former longtime resident of Woburn, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side, Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center of Burlington. She was 91. Ruth was the beloved wife of the late Carl P. Lentini. Born in Derry, NH she was the daughter of the late Evelyn (Laney) and Joseph Meile.
Ruth was raised and educated in Methuen and was a graduate of Methuen High School. She went to graduate from the Fazio Institute of Beauty Culture earning her certification in cosmetology and worked for a period of time as a trusted and talented hairdresser. Mostly devoted to her family, Ruth cherished her role as a stay-at-home mother raising seven active children. She was always present and involved in her children's many activities, shuttling to and from all their sporting and school events. She was always there for them. A talented and creative person, Ruth was a tremendous cook, she learned to prepare delicious traditional Italian dishes from her mother-in-law who lived with her and her husband for a period of time. Her mother-in-law became one of her closest friends. She was also an extremely talented baker and designer of extravagant wedding cakes. Ruth also enjoyed traveling with family and friends and for twenty years together with her late husband they enjoyed spending the winter months in Vieques, Puerto Rico, where they enjoyed the people, culture, and made many lasting friendships. Ruth will be fondly remembered for her unconditional love and devotion to her family. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her late husband and parents, Ruth is sadly predeceased by her son, the late Joseph Lentini, and her siblings, the late Norma Rudis, Frederick "Buster" Hines, Donald Hines, Pauline Paris, and Arthur Hines.
She is survived by her devoted children; Carl Lentini and his wife Linda of Wells, ME, Maria Hart and her husband Terry of East Wakefield, NH, Kevin Lentini and his wife Kathryn of Wells, ME, Lisa Demers and her husband Eugene of Wells, ME, Andrea Richards and her husband Tom of Hampton, NH, Alison Fogel and her husband David of York, ME. She was the loving grandmother of Amy Herra and husband Joe, Carlton Lentini Jr. and wife Maya, Philip Lentini and fiancé Sirena Gebeau, Ryan White and wife Lisa, Ashley Dowling and husband Rob, Kevin Lentini and wife Christen, Kyle Lentini and fiancé Mariana Lacolla, Kole Lentini, Heather Gale and husband Liam, Brittany Danehy, Amanda Richards and fiancé David Costa, Zachary Richards and girlfriend Christina Amato. Loving Great Grandmother of Lianna, Layla, Joseph, Rose, Autumn, Charlie, Hope, and Shawn. She is further survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Wednesday, April 23rd, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a prayer service beginning at 11 a.m. Services will conclude with entombment at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
