Richard H. Burke, III, 73 years old of Lynn,, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday April 12, 2025 after battling cancer for the past two years. Born in Lynn and raised in Swampscott, Richard was the son of Richard Burke Jr. and Lola Burke. He was a graduate of Swampscott High School and received his Bachelor’s degree from Bentley College in 1973. Richard began a successful business career running the Jack and the Beanstalk Produce Company on Cape Cod and then, later as a liquidator of office equipment.
Richard was a devout Catholic and attended mass daily at Arch Street Shrine and most recently at St. John the Evangelist in Swampscott. Richard was known for his generosity donating to several charitable organizations. He was a loving brother to his sister Darlene, his brother Bob, as well as his now predeceased brother Jack.
Richard enjoyed an extremely close relationship with all of his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed attending many of their sports and other events always lending his support. Richard will surely be missed by his many close friends, priests, family, and all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. followed by his Memorial Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church, 178 Humphrey St., Swampscott on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 11:00 A.M.
