Rose Marie (Cistaro) Bean passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025.
Rose was born in Weymouth, MA on June 26, 1938 to the late Orendo and Irene Cistaro. After graduating from Whitman-Hanson High School in 1956, she married the love of her life, Larry. They were married just one month shy of 67 years before her passing.
Rose – a lifelong Catholic – was first and foremost a wife, mother, Nana, Great Nana, and homemaker. She worked at Purity / Stop and Shop and Ridder Country Club for many years.
Rose loved to take ballroom dance lessons with Larry, as well as garden, plant flowers, grow tomatoes, and walk all around Whitman and speak to everyone because she knew everyone. She and Larry enjoyed spending time with their children, grandchildren, and most recently their great granddaughter. They also enjoyed traveling after retirement and took several trips abroad including to Italy, Alaska, several national parks, and cruises.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Orendo and Irene Cistaro; her brother, Orendo “Joe” Cistaro and her sister, Angela Cistaro. She is survived by her eternally loving and devoted husband, Lauress (“Larry”) A. Bean, Jr of Carver; daughter Diane (Peter) Hanson of South Yarmouth; daughter Suzanne (David) Hicks of East Sandwich; daughter Patricia (Robert Dyer) Bean of Marshfield; daughter Kristin (Geoff) Hicks of Germantown, TN; grandchildren Zachary Griffiths, Katherine Griffiths, William Hicks, Benjamin Hicks, Livi Hicks, and Charlie Hicks; great-grandchild Bella Rose Rodrigues; and several nieces and nephews, including her niece Traci Duhamel, with whom she was especially close.
Family and friends are invited to Rose’s visiting hours on Thursday, April 24th from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary), Whitman. All are welcome to the funeral home Friday, April 25th at 9:45 AM to join in a procession to the Holy Ghost Church, for a funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. A burial will immediately follow at the St. James Cemetery, Whitman.
