Obituary

WINDHAM- Carie Ann Blake, aged 49, passed away unexpectedly at Maine Medical Center on Palm
Sunday, April 13, 2025, due to a sudden acute illness. She was surrounded by her loving
family. Carie was born on December 15, 1975, to parents Jennifer Noone and Philip Blake I in
Portland, Maine. Carie grew up alongside her two siblings- Philip Blake II and Rebecca Blake.
In her adult life, she had a long-term partner, Damien Manecchia, and together they had a child,
Emery Manecchia. In addition to being a mother to Emery, Carie was a proud pet mom to pugs
Woobie, LeStat, Watson, Oswald, and Beastie the Cat.
She was a talented artist and master craftswoman. She enjoyed watching 80’s TV shows, was
an avid fan of Walker Texas Ranger, and listened to all kinds of music, from the Violent
Femmes, to Reggae, and the Doors (especially Jim Morrison’s poetry). She was often engaged
in Tarot card readings, and avidly followed astrology (as any true Sagitarian would). She loved
going to Salem, Massachusetts annually for Halloween. She held many titles in the workforce,
always befriending her co-workers and bosses, and earning a “hard working” label wherever
she went. Carie made a mean home-made salsa, and loved her jobs in a kitchen, especially
Rose’s Restaurant in Windham. She hated mayonnaise as much as she loved ketchup. Carie
loved to walk barefoot, collecting Pez dispensers, the old classic Barracuda in her Dad’s yard,
Guinness, and Irish Cream Coffee. She loved a good mystery or conspiracy theory as much as
the next person- maybe more. She was as unique, remarkable and weird as any artist ever
known. She was loved by an eclectic bunch, and will be remembered as the leading lady in a
collage of hilariously unforgettable stories.
Carie is survived by her only child, Emery Manecchia (partner Alden) of Vermont, her parents
Philip Blake I (wife Kate) of Raymond, Jennifer Harmon of Windham, her siblings Philip Blake II
of Windham, Rebecca Blake (partner Dave) of Windham, her nephew Cecil Ramsey (fiancee
Shea) of Cornish, and other dear family members.
Carie ‘was greeted by her fur-babies and beloved Grandparents Bumper and Grammie on the
other side, and will be missed dearly by the family and friends that she left behind, including
Jon, Dan, and “The Raymond Girls.” If Carie could leave us with an important message to take
with us in our lives, it would sound something like, “Walk barefoot, always know when Mercury
is retrograde, and fer Chrissake, we need more cow-bell!”
