Lloyd E. "Skip" Wheaton, Jr., 85, of Westport passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at home. He was husband of Mary (Pettey) Wheaton.
Born in West Hartford, CT, son of the late Lloyd E. Wheaton, Sr. and the late Marion A. (Duckworth) Wheaton, he had lived in Westport since 2000. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served his country in the United States Air Force, stationed in Korea. Prior to his retirement in 1985, he was a Sergeant for the Massachusetts State Police, where he worked for 20 years. He was a member of the former Massachusetts State Trooper Association. Skip enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and an occasional cold beer. He also enjoyed lobster fishing, working on several lobster boats out of Westport Point. He was very proud of his family.
Including his wife, he is survived by 3 sons: Michael T. Wheaton and his wife Holly of Dartmouth, Timothy P. Wheaton and his wife Lisa of Dartmouth and Andrew P. Wheaton and his wife Lori Ann of Dartmouth; a daughter: Lynne E. Pimental and her husband Craig of Dartmouth; 5 step-children: Angela DeMello of Westport, Gregory DeMello of Westport, Christopher DeMello of Fall River, Melissa Krynicki of Dartmouth and Rebecca DeMello of Westport; 2 sisters: Susan T. Josephson of AZ and Nancy J. Weber of ME; 12 grandchildren: Amy, Lauren, Jenn, Jillian, William, Allison, Samantha, Kyleigh, Lilly, Bryar, Julie and Shelby; 7 step-grandchildren: Desiree, Tyler, Robert, Vanessa, Brandon, Alex and Gray; and several nieces and nephews.
In accordance with his wishes services will be private.
