SPRINGFIELD – Marie Danielle "Dani" Shappy, 49, of the Old Hill section of Springfield was Called Safely Home on Saturday, April 12, 2025. She passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Fort Riley, Kansas on January 15, 1976, a beloved daughter of Bruce Bernard Shappy of East Springfield and the late Marsha Ann (Bushey) Shappy who was Called Home on November 30, 2022. Her parents moved to Springfield in 1992 where she lived the remainder of her life. Dani graduated from the High School of Commerce in Springfield and later took some college courses. She was a Dispatcher for the former Yellow Cab Company in Springfield. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Besides her father, she leaves her three loving children, Andrea N. Townsend, and Breanna M. Ousley and her husband, Courtney, all of Springfield, and Phillip B. Townsend and his fiancée, Kiearia Cox, of Lemoore, CA; her six cherished grandchildren whom she adored, Charlie and Demarius, and Kaden, London, Cori, and Calia; her dear aunts, Marian Rainville and Margie Bushey-Grenier; and her many other aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and extended family members. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Springfield Chapels (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107 which will conclude with a Celebration of Life Service at 3:30 p.m. Her burial will be private at the convenience of her family.
