Obituary

William “Bill” Edison Macdonald born in Boston, MA on October 22, 1948, formerly of Revere, MA, passed away on April 12,2025 at the age of 76 at the Bedford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bedford, NH.

Bill enlisted in the United States Army and served two tours of duty in Vietnam where he rose to the rank of Sgt earning many meritorious awards including a Bronze Star Medal.

Upon leaving the military he married the love of his life Priscilla Peddle on April 8, 1972.

Bill was employed by Cummings Properties in Woburn, MA for over 30 years, wearing many hats. He was known by customers and co-workers alike as “The Voice of Cummings.” Bill made many lifelong friendships which he maintained even after his retirement when they would all meet weekly to catch up over breakfast. After his wife’s death these friends came to visit and spend time with him in the nursing home.

Bill was a voracious reader, master cribbage player, and avid lifelong Boston Bruins and New England Patriots fan.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Priscilla, his parents Allison and Elizabeth, his sisters, Barbara Sirignano, and Elizabeth Billcliff, and his brother Allison.

He is survived by his sister Marion Hagemeister, brother-in-law James Peddle, and sisters-in-law Joan Randall, Mary Baron, and Edith Wright. He was also a loving, kind, and fun uncle to many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great great-nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Tuesday April 22, 2025 from 10am - 12pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2:00pm in the chapel of the NH State Veteran’s Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.
