Obituary

Roy Alfred Arsenault, 91, of Londonderry, NH, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 20, 1933, in Reading, MA, son to the late Joseph and Constance Arsenault. He had been a resident of Londonderry for the past 53 years, in the home that he built for his family.

Roy was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served as a Basic Airman installing and maintaining various radio relay equipment. After his service, he went on to own and operate a successful machine shop as a skilled machinist for over 30 years. He loved anything that involved working with his hands. Whether it was carpentry, automotive or general home improvements, he could always be found with his toolbox nearby. He was also an enthusiastic Red Sox fan and rarely missed a game. In his younger years, he was an avid snow skier and an expert water skier. Roy spent summers with his family on Merrymeeting Lake in New Durham, NH, where he and his father built by hand the family lake house in 1963. Roy instilled in his children and grandchildren his love of the outdoors along with his strong belief in the rewards of hard work and putting others first.

Those who knew Roy will remember him as a selfless and genuine man, devoted to his family. He was a steadfast friend, always willing and able to lend a hand. He lived a life of honesty and integrity.

Roy is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years Marie (Palermo) Arsenault; son, Roy Arsenault, Jr.; daughter Lynne (Robert) Dejadon, his two grandchildren Tyler (Nicol) Dejadon and Brooke Dejadon, along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Raymond McBride; two sisters, Antoinette (Bailey) McBride and Claire (Keaveney) Arsenault.
