Rich was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. A graduate of Christopher Columbus High School and Wentworth Institute, Rich served in the United States Coast Guard during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, he settled in Medford where he and Jeanette raised their family. Rich enjoyed a long career with AT&T. He worked as a communications technician and often served in supervisory roles and as a safety instructor.

Rich enjoyed many lasting friendships throughout his life and was a warm neighbor to everyone in West Medford and beyond. Most of all, he was dedicated to his family. Rich was a wonderful and admirable father and held in his heart a most special place for his grandchildren. He always looked forward to time with his family, living out a tradition of closeness and faith, often fitting in a game or two of dominos. Rich and the love of his life, Jeanette, enjoyed a great life together, and a wonderful love for each other. They looked forward to travelling throughout the world. They shared many visits to Italy and throughout Europe, developing a special taste for Portugal. They went as far as Oceania, making visits to New Zealand, Australia and the beaches of Fiji. They enjoyed winter months in Lauderdale by the Sea as they retired but always treasured staying close to their family and friends.

The beloved husband of Jeanette (Porriello) Raso, Rich was a devoted father to Michelle Carli and her husband Christopher of Beverly, Nancy Duggan and her husband Christopher of Acton, and Richard Raso of Medford. He was a loving grandfather to Robert, Amanda, Michael, Nicole, Julia, Lily, Mia and Ella. He was the father-in-law of Kelli Raso of Medford. Rich was a dear brother to Alfred Raso, the late Angela MacCormac and her husband Robert, the late Vincent Raso and his surviving wife Theresa, the late Frances Musto and her husband John, the late Dominic Raso and his surviving wife Dorothy and the late Elena Intravia and her husband Sam. He was the dear brother-in-law of Lorraine Tringale and her late husband Joseph of North Reading, the late Nicholas Porriello, Lucy and Louis Fortunato, Rita and Peter Carbone, Marie and Louis Carbone all of Medford. Rich also leaves many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
