Alma Alexander, 89, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, August 14, 2006 at the Fitzgerald Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 17, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Pastor Vernon Hughes and Pastor Junior Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in New Corinth Cemetery. Visitation 7 to 9 PM Wednesday evening at the Funeral Home.
Mrs. Alexander was born July 28, 1917, in Webster County, Georgia, to the late Jim and Luta Stephens Barrentine. She lived in the community most of her life and was a former resident of Valdosta and Ocilla. Mrs. Alexander was a homemaker and a member of the Holiness Baptist faith.
Mrs. Alexander is survived by 4 sons and daughters-in-law: Jack & Velma Kimbrell, Tifton, Carl & Onita Kimbrell, Pinetta, FL, Cecil & Myrtle Kimbrell, Fitzgerald and James & Sherry Alexander, Richmond Hill; 22 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister: Mary Alice Morris, Phenix City, AL; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Buddy Kimbrell and O.M. Alexander, daughter, Gwennell Walsh, four brothers and four sisters.
