Obituary

CHICOPEE – Elizabeth A. (White) St. Laurent, 92, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Portland, Maine on October 26, 1932, a beloved daughter of the late James H. and Marion R. (Neales) White. She was raised in Portland, graduated from Portland High School and has been a resident of Chicopee since 1954. She was employed for many years at Dielectrics in Chicopee and retired in 1996. She was a member of the Chicopee Parent Teachers Association and the Chicopee Senior Center. She always loved a good day of shopping for bargains at the area stores. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church and a longtime communicant of Saint Patrick Church, both in Chicopee. Above all, she loved spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Robert G. St. Laurent. They were married on June 21, 1952 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Portland and were blessed with over 43 years of happiness together. She leaves her three loving and devoted children, Robert J. St. Laurent and his wife, Kathleen, of Chicopee, Gail E. Belanger and her husband, Mark, of Belchertown, and Gregory P. St. Laurent and his wife, Ruth, of Chicopee; her six cherished grandchildren, Matthew St. Laurent and his wife, Caitlin, Rachel Reda and her husband, Eric, Lauren Bolduc and her husband, Michael, Kyle Belanger and his wife, Jennifer, Gregory St. Laurent, and Zachary St. Laurent and his partner, Jade Samlall; her nine cherished great grandchildren, Emma, Christian, Natalie, Felicity, Gabriel, Jack, Samantha, Mia, and Lacey; her dear brother, Leo White of Windham, ME; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, and extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her eight dear siblings, Joan, Mary Rose, Catherine, Lorraine, Patricia, Joseph, James Jr., and Paul. Her family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the staff at Cedarbrook Village in Ware for the care and compassion they gave to Elizabeth. Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 10 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Saint Patrick Cemetery, 168 Fuller Road, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home.
