BERNICE M. (PLUTO) FILLER OBITUARY
Bernice Mary (Pluto) Filler, 83, of Commodore, PA died Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Heritage Grove at Indiana in Indiana, PA with her daughter and son-in-law nearby.
The daughter of John and Mary Pluto, she was born on March 7, 1942 in Starford, PA.
Bernice was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, where she attended services at the Clymer site. While growing up, she attended, and was a member of, the former St. Elizabeth Church in Starford.
She was a graduate of Purchase Line High School.
Bernice was married to Thomas H. Filler for over sixty years, when he died on July 29, 2022.
Bernice worked for many years in various positions at the Purchase Line South Elementary. She greatly enjoyed her years there working as a cafeteria aide prior to her retirement.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Ann Turnbull and husband Timothy of Rochester Mills, PA.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her infant daughter: Mary Kathryn Filler; her sister Shirley Tomechko and nephew: Albert Tomechko, who had both resided in Cleveland, OH.
In respect to Bernice’s wishes, all arrangements are private with the assistance of the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA.
In lieu of flowers, and in recognition of Bernice’s great love for animals, memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana Humane Society at 191 Airport Road, Indiana, PA 15701.
