Obituary

MaryAnn (Barrasso) Gouveia passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at the age of 81 in the care of her family and hospice.

She was the beloved wife of Joseph Gouveia and was just two months shy of celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. She was the devoted mother to Diana Carlson and her husband Kevin and grandmother to Michael and Julia Carlson of Tewksbury. She was the daughter of the late Dominic Barrasso and the late Michelina (Voto) Barrasso and sister of Madeline Jarmulowicz, of Cambridge, William Barrasso and his wife Susan, of Tewksbury, and the late Rose Marie Barrasso, and the late Helen Barrasso. MaryAnn leaves many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

MaryAnn was raised in Cambridge and moved during high school to New Jersey where she graduated from East Orange High School. She spent the majority of her career at Lechmere where she worked as an accounts payable supervisor prior to her retirement.

She was an active member and Eucharistic Minister of the St. William’s Parish, and a resident of Tewksbury for 49 years.

She loved spending time with her family and friends vacationing, frequenting restaurants, cooking and hosting gatherings.

Calling hours are Tuesday, April 15, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. Her funeral procession will begin on Wednesday, April 16 at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main Street, Route 38, Tewksbury. Services will conclude with interment at St. Mary Cemetery, 90 River Road, Tewksbury.
