Charles James Carroll Jr., a devoted family man and dedicated public servant, passed away on March 28, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on November 9, 1946, Charles lived a life of service and love.
Charles proudly served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years, including time in Vietnam. After his military service, he worked at the Old Colony Corrections facility in Bridgewater.
Charles was known for his kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand. His love for his grandchildren was boundless, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He was also a die-hard New England Patriots fan, and his enthusiasm for the team was contagious.
Charles is survived by his loving family, including his sister Margaret McKinnon and sister Anne Keay. His children, Steven Carroll, Valerie Carroll and her children Mark J Smith and Michael Lupo, Marie O'Neil and her children Taylor Benner, Andrew Chandler, Jacob Chandler, and great-grandson Brent Cain; John O'Neill and his sons Colin O'Neill and Connor O'Neill.
Charles's legacy of service, love, and kindness will live on through his family. Rest in peace, Charles.
Family and friends are welcome to attend Charles visiting hours on Saturday, April 12th from 12:00-1:00 PM with a 1:00 PM funeral service to follow at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman.
