STEEP FALLS- Gordon Malcolm Chute, age 73, passed away at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, on April 7, 2025. Born to parents Lester and Rebecca (Sanborn) Chute on March 6, 1952. After graduating from Bonny Eagle High School, he joined the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged. In his adult years he became a father to 3 daughters - April, Amy, and Karri, a title he was proud to have. His favorite job was as a cook for Thatcher’s, he started in South Portland and then moved locations with them to Westbrook. In his free time, he enjoyed tinkering on anything with an engine or metal parts, riding his motorcycle, camping with his daughters during their childhood, and enjoyed every aspect of the outdoors. He also was a collector of CD’s, all things cowboy and Native American, and was fascinated with guns, often taking a liking to the unique ones! Gordon is preceded in death by his father, Lester Chute, and his son-in-law Dwayne. He is survived by his mother Becky Chute, 94, of Windham, his daughters- April Simmons and her husband Dale of Waterboro, Amy Chute and her partner Allison of Waterboro, and Karri Chute of Waterboro, his grandchildren- April and Dale’s children- Mariah, Joanne, and “Little” Dale, Karri’s children- Jada, Quientan, and Renisha, his 6 great-grandchildren, and his siblings- brother Neil of Limington, sister Gail of Alabama, and a half-sister Nancy. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, April 19th from 11 AM - 1 PM at the Poitras, Neal & York Funeral Home, 71 Maple St., Cornish. A graveside service will follow at the conclusion of visiting hours at the New West Baldwin Cemetery.
