Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Michael Emmanuel Durant, a cherished uncle, brother, and friend. Michael departed from us on March 29, 2025, at the age of 64, leaving a profound void in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A devoted and loving uncle, Michael took great joy in his relationships with his nieces and nephews. He was not only a brother to his siblings but also a steadfast friend to many, and he will be lovingly remembered for his passion for music and his impeccable sense of style, often seen in his freshly pressed clothes that he picked up from the cleaners every Friday.
Born and raised in Hartford, Michael attended Hartford Public Schools and dedicated many years of his life to the construction field, where his hard work and determination were evident. He is predeceased in death by his beloved mother, Geraldine McBride, his father, Alfred Durant Sr., his sister, Melissa McDade, and nephew Marcus McDade.
Michael’s legacy lives on through his surviving family, including his brothers Alfred Durant Jr. and Anthony McBride, as well as his sisters Geraldine (Veronica) McDade, Vanessa Latimer, and Shelia McBride. He also leaves behind a loving extended family of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews, all of whom cherished him deeply.
Though he may no longer be with us in body, Michael's spirit and the memories we share will forever remain in our hearts. He will be truly missed.

You are lovingly invited to come together with us in remembering and honoring his life at Hartford Community Funeral Home, 380 Maple Avenue, Hartford, CT 06114. We will gather on April 17, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. for a time of viewing, followed by a heartfelt service at 12noon. In lieu of flowers, we would be grateful if you could consider making a donation to Hartford Community Funeral Home at the same address.
