Joao C. Gouveia, 78, of Dartmouth, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at Hathaway Manor. He was the husband of Maria (Reis) Gouveia, they shared 53 years of marriage.
Mr. Gouveia was born in St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Virginio and Mariano (Carvalho) Gouveia and had resided in Westport for over 40 years before relocating to Dartmouth. Prior to retirement, he worked as a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of Our Lady of Light Band, Fall River and a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Westport.
Survivors along with his wife include his son: Neil Gouveia and his wife Tanya of Dartmouth; 2 daughters: Wanda Pimentel and her husband Bob of Queen Creek, AZ and Sandra Gouveia of Westport; 2 brothers: Fernando Gouveia of Bridgewater and Joe Gouveia of Fall River; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
