Judith Theresa Skelton, 76, of Hudson, NH, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones, on April 5, 2025. Judy was born in Boston, MA to George Frances McCullough and Eulalia Jane Woods McCullough, on April 17, 1948. She attended Burlington High School, Class of 1966, and married her high school sweetheart, Clifford Lane Skelton, on September 5, 1970.
Judith, “Judy,” was a devoted wife of 54 years, loving mother to four daughters, and grandmother to her twelve grandchildren. Her hand-knitted baby sweaters, hats, and booties were a keepsake of her love and devotion to family. Judy made Christmas and every holiday magical, summers at the camp in Barnstead special, and her homemade recipes filled her kitchen with laughter, love and lifetime friendships. She loved her annual sister outings, attending her grandchildren’s birthdays and events, and our grand McCullough and Skelton gatherings.
Judy is survived by her four daughters, Sherry Fay and her husband, Robert Fay, Jr., Patty Preston and her husband, Glen Preston, Laurie Sellingham, and Heidi Palombo and her husband Joshua Palombo. She leaves behind her six siblings, George McCullough and his wife, Terry, Janie Connelly and her husband, Michael, Joanne Montenero and her husband Paul, June McNeil, Paul McCullough and his wife Rita, and Jeanette Floyd and her husband, Gary. Judy also leaves behind her twelve beloved grandchildren, Brianah, Jackson, Glen Michael, Molly, Miranda, Jared, Morgan, Hannah, Avery, Aiden, Lily and Hudson. She was predeceased by her beloved sister-in-law, Diane McCullough.
A wake service will be held in her honor on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 am in St. John the Evangelist Church, 25 Library Street, Hudson, NH. The burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Gilcreast Road, Londonderry.
