Obituary

Kim Marie Brown-Colon, 62, of Lowell, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.

Born in Rochester, New York, on June 13, 1963, she was the daughter of the late Frank Brown and the late Gertrude (Mimms) Brown. At a young age, her family relocated to Lowell, where she was raised and educated. She graduated from Lowell High School and remained a proud member of the community throughout her life.

Kim faced a long and difficult health journey after contracting COVID-19 in 2021. The illness, combined with other underlying health issues, led to ongoing complications. Though she fought bravely and never gave up, the extended hospital visits and long periods of isolation from her social circles took a toll. Still, she continued to show the same love, generosity, and selflessness that defined her entire life.

A true people person, Kim loved connecting with her friends on Facebook, sharing stories, cooking, and catching up on the latest gossip. She had a giving heart—she never had much, but what she did have she gave freely. She was known for being a thoughtful and generous gift giver, always thinking of others before herself.

She had a soft spot for stuffed animals, and her home was filled with her cherished collection. But more than anything, her greatest joy came from the time she spent with her nieces and nephews. They meant the world to her, and while she may not have always said it out loud, her love for them was endless and unconditional.

She is survived by her siblings: Timmy Brown, Darion Brown, and Laura Amilka; her sisters-in-law: Sarah Hames, Georgia Halepis, and Cheryl Delong; and by many beloved nieces, nephews, and close friends who will miss her dearly.

Kim was predeceased by her brothers, Allan Brown and Randy Brown.

Her warmth, humor, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

You are welcome to attend her calling hours on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 from 4pm until 6pm at the McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, MA 01852.
