Catherine Pauline (Ostafin) Russo, 74, of Medway , died peacefully on April 6 at home with her beloved family after a long illness. Although her first name was Catherine most people knew her as Pauline and that was the name she preferred. She was the wife of Joseph G. Russo for the past 42 years.
Born in Easthampton in 1950, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Kathleen (Sullivan) Ostafin. Pauline was raised in Easthampton and had lived in Medway for the past 33 years.
She was a graduate of Salem State College with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Social Work.
Pauline held a number of social work positions during her career and most recently had been the social worker for the Medway Housing Authority.
She enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading and taking long walks.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Kevin Dussault of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, Tina Mattei of Greenfield and Ronald Dussault of Sarasota, Florida.
She is also survived by her sister Maryann Figiela of Coventry, Connecticut and was the sister of the late Charles Ostafin, Jr.
Pauline is also survived by her grandchildren, Seth Dussault, Kyle Dussault, Savannah Fuller and Cassandra Mattei and her great-granddaughter Freya Ly.
Her calling hours will be held on April 14 in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home ginleyfuneralhomes.com 3 Barber Street, Medway from 4-7 p.m.
