Obituary

March 22, 1995 ~ April 4, 2025

With heavy hearts and deep love, Kara Elizabeth Borges, 30, of Westport, passed away on Friday, April 4th, 2025, surrounded by family and loved ones at Charlton Memorial Hospital after an unexpected illness.

Kara was the beloved daughter of Michael and Debra Borges of Westport. She grew up and remained in Westport, where she touched countless lives with her warmth and compassion. She was a Special Education Pre-Kindergarten teacher at Carney Academy Elementary School and also served as the office manager at Elephant Rock Beach Club.

She dedicated her time and energy to helping others, never expecting anything in return. Her passion ran deep—whether in her work, her relationships, or the causes she believed in, Kara poured her whole self into everything she did. She had a remarkable way of making others feel loved and supported, always placing their needs above her own. Her generosity had no limits. She brought joy with her laughter and sunshine with her smile. She was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her.

Kara had a creative heart and a fearless imagination. Whether she was painting, building, crafting, or turning the simplest object into something beautiful, she brought her ideas to life with joy and originality. Her love for DIY projects wasn’t just a hobby—it was a reflection of who she was. Creativity was her language of love—whether decorating a room, making handmade gifts for loved ones, or creating something simply to make someone smile.

She is survived by her brother, Christopher, and his wife, Lily, of St. Petersburg, FL; her godson, Michael, and niece, Ella; her fiancé, Cameron Beaulieu of Westport; their beloved dog, Ava; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and a wide circle of friends and hearts she touched deeply. Though her time here was far too short, her impact will never be forgotten. Her legacy of love, generosity, and creativity lives on in all of us.
