Mr. Mark R. Hodgson, a longtime resident of Winchester & Medford, passed away at his home on Wednesday afternoon, April 2, 2025. He was 71 years old.
Born in Medford, Massachusetts, on August 12, 1953, he was the beloved son of the late Charles R. and Helen T. (Doherty) Hodgson. Mark was the brother of the late Steven Hodgson and his wife Marsha of Reston, Va.
Mr. Hodgson graduated from the Wentworth Institute of Technology and was employed as a Mason & Masonary Inspector for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed being at the ocean, fishing and boating. He also loved to spend time in Florida & Gloucester, rooting for all of the Boston sports teams, and was always up for a celebration and good party. Mark will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his loving aunts; Katherine (Hodgson) Ekstrom of St. Mary's, Georgia and Clare (Hodgson) Weinstein of Woburn, and cousins; Bill Weinstein of Arlington, Richard Weinstein of North Chelmsford, Linda Weinstein of Arlington, Deborah Weinstein of Waltham, Paul Weinstein of Boston, Derek Ekstrom of St. Mary’s Georgia, Jonathan Ekstrom of Rocky Hill, CT., Denise (Doherty) Pappas of Winchester, Jackie (Doherty) Ro and her husband Charlie of Saugus, Robbie Doherty and his wife Carol of Stoneham, Johnny Doherty of Medford, Moria (Doherty) Manning and her husband, Gary of Medford, Alan Doherty and his wife, Jane of Ashland, Maureen (Doherty) Fowler of North Reading, Patty (Doherty) Cashman and her husband Steve of Andover, Doreen (McLean) Whalen and her husband Jimmy of California, Patrice Doherty of Vermont, and close friend Betty Mitchell of Medford.
His funeral service will be celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 11AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visitation will be held in the funeral home, prior to the service, from 10 to 11 AM. Interment will be held in the Wildwood Cemetery in Winchester.
