Marie S. Butler (nee Nicoletti), age 86, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on April 22, 1938, in Clinton, Massachusetts, to Frank and Martha (Cupido) Nicoletti, Marie’s life was defined by her unwavering devotion to her family. In 1955, she married Gerald Osborne Butler, the love of her life, who predeceased her in 2007. Their enduring love created a strong and nurturing foundation for their growing family.

Marie was the loving mother of six children: Edith McSherry (Michael), Gerald O. Butler (Pam), Scott J. Butler (Debra), Arthur J. Butler, Frank J. Butler (Pamela), and Beth Moonstone (Kevin). She leaves behind a large and loving family, including sixteen grandchildren Kathryn McSherry, Brian McSherry, Timothy Gustafson (Beatriz), Martin Nutt, Stephanie Butler (Karim), Victoria Butler, Thomas Butler, Dani Butler (Rebecca), Maes Salyzyn (Vinny), David Crehan (Lydia), Antoinette Butler, Jacob Butler, Lilith Hannon, Jadziah DeRosia (James), Atreyu Hannon-Moonstone, and Fiona Hannon-Moonstone, seventeen great-grandchildren Troy Hernandez Crehan, Jarrid Deso (Kacey), Trenton Hernandez Crehan, Makayla Hernandez Crehan, Frankee Crehan, Seaghan Crehan, Ariella, Ivah, Vito, Hayden Osborne, Valentina, Jonah, Diana, Liliana, Daniela, James, and Jon-Luc, and six great-great-grandchildren Kade, Kastiel, Sebastian, Octavia, Iris and Ivy.

For three decades, Marie worked in the field of microelectronics, contributing her leadership and precision as a supervisor at Micro Networks, where she oversaw the delicate assembly of microelectronic components.

Marie’s gentle nature and kind heart touched all who knew her. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcomed and loved, creating a warm and comforting home filled with cherished memories. Her legacy of love and family devotion will forever live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
