Carl J. Blanchette

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carl Blanchette, who left us on March 29, 2025 at 86 years old peacefully and surrounded by love ones. He was a beloved son, brother, father and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Born in Lawrence, MA on January 09, 1939, he lived a life full of generosity, love and dedication to family and friends. He was known for his easy going and friendly nature, adventurous spirit and love of nature. Carl served in the US Air Force for 4 years and was honorably discharged. He Began his career with the New England Telephone Company, later attended Hesser College obtaining a degree in Electrical Engineering. After retirement from the New England Telephone Company, Carl took consultant positions in various locations across the States until he fully retired.
Carl enjoyed traveling and exploring the outdoors. His hobbies included motorcycle riding in his younger years, photography, hiking, and spending time with his family and friends. Carl became an avid photographer, using his spare time traveling and photographing nature, historical covered bridges and lighthouses throughout New England.
Carl is survived by his four children, Wayne Blanchette of Lawrence, MA, Cheryl Hooton of Clarksville, TN, Allison Sullivan of Fort Myers Florida, and Susan Porter of Atkinson, NH, Son in laws, Paul Porter and Jon Hooton; Grandchildren Robert Turner, Samantha Spott, Ryan Collette and Preston Collette, as well as 5 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilrose and Evelyn Blanchette; sister, Irene Blanchette; and brother Ronald Blanchette.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 26th from 1 - 2:30pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A memorial service will follow at 2:30pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Amherst Conservation Commission, 2 Main St., Amherst, NH 03031 in his memory.
Carl's warmth, wisdom, and love will remain in our hearts forever.
