Obituary

Flora A. Pedro, 93, of Brockton passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025 with her family by her side after a period of failing health. She was the loving wife of the late Thomas Pedro. Born on November 29, 1931 in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Assunta and Serafino Iafrate.

Flora began her working career at Lucey Shoe Company in Bridgewater. After that she worked at Garland Knitting Mills in Brockton and then as a cafeteria worker at Bridgewater State College for 10 years, retiring in 1992. She and her late husband enjoyed country music and dancing on Friday nights at the VFW in Taunton. She also bowled in a ten-pin league at Westgate Lanes.

Flora’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She loved to make her homemade pizza with some ravioli and sauce and sit around the big table in the party room surrounded by all those she loved. She had a wonderful sense of humor that made her the life of any party. Flora loved animals and was especially fond of her dog Chica.

Flora is survived by her children, Laura Melanson and her husband Gary of Pembroke, Richard Berglund and his wife Pamela of Easton, David Berglund of New Hampshire and her late husband’s children who held a special place in her heart. She was the sister of the late Evelyn Zarella, Ralph Iafrate, Mario Iafrate, and Joseph Iafrate. She was Grammy to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and Aunt to several nieces and nephews.
