Johanne V. (Gedman) Kimelaskas, 89, of Worcester, died on Sunday, March 30th in St. Vincent Hospital with her family by her side. She leaves her children, William J. Kimelaskas and Jacinta Kelleher, both of Worcester; her sister, Sister Mary Barbara, CSFN of Philadelphia, PA; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her former husband, William J. Kimelaskas; her companion of 15 years, John Belsito; and two brothers, Charles and Jerome Gedman.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Charles Gedman and Anna (Tilenda) Gedman Milaszewski. For three decades, Johanne dedicated herself to her role as a secretary in the emergency room at St. Vincent Hospital, a position where her compassion, organization, and attention to detail made her an invaluable member of the team. Her colleagues and the many patients she helped over the years remember her as a calming and kind presence in an often-hectic environment. Outside of her professional life, Johanne was a woman of many passions. She was an avid reader, often immersing herself in books that sparked her imagination and broadened her understanding of the world. Johanne also enjoyed taking trips to the casino, where she could unwind and enjoy the thrill of the games with her friends and family.
Her funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is assisting the family with arrangements.
