Obituary

Frances Yvonne McCann DeNapoli, age 78, passed on to her eternal resting place on March 29, 2025. Fran was born in Needham, Ma, one of 7 children, and the daughter of Robert and Angeline McCann. She married Joseph DeNapoli, and they raised their three children, Tom, Angela and Michael in Stoughton, Ma.

Fran spent her later years back in the Boston area in Belmont and Roslindale, working for many years at the Mount Auburn Hospital as a Medical secretary and Office manager. Fran had a very strong work ethic, working from a very young age, had a wonderful sense of style, and was always striving for excellence in all she did. She was an absolutely outstanding cook, a talented seamstress and made the most beautiful crocheted blankets, knit sweaters, and baptismal gowns, especially proud to give these to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

“Nana Fran” was a very fun, proud and loving grandmother to 6 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. Nothing brought her more joy than watching videos of her great grandchildren dancing, singing and doing all things silly. In her years as a young mother, she loved to host family and friends and could be found dancing on her own coffee table with her kids and grandkids.

Fran is survived by her oldest son Tom DeNapoli, and his wife Pamela of Bourne, Ma, and their children Johanna Eicher and her husband Richard Eicher, and their children Everly, Isabelle and Richard III of Norwell, Ma; Jacquelyn Spinelli, and her husband Antonio Spinelli and their children Antonio and Carmela of Franklin, Ma.; Her daughter Angela DeNapoli and her partner Peter Stagman, and her son Landon Harris of Roslindale, Ma.; Her youngest son Michael DeNapoli of Roslindale, Ma, and his children Alec DeNapoli of Boston, Ma, Zachary DeNapoli of North Easton, Ma and daughter Gianna DeCelle and her husband Ben DeCelle of South Boston, Ma. She is also survived by her sisters Janet Mahoney of Hull, Ma, Angelyn Cochrane of Marshfield, Ma, and brother Mathew McCann of Manchester, NH, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Whether being called Mum, Franny, or Nana Fran, she could not have had more pride, and love for her family.

A Remembrance service and Celebration of Life will be held later this Spring in her honor.

In lieu of flowers, and in the spirit of Fran’s love of family and children, donations may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation in her name.
