Obituary

Ronny M. Aycock, 72, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died at his home Thursday, March 27, 2025.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, March 30, 2025, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. George Carroll Paulk officiating. The eulogy will be delivered by Joey Veal. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, in Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.

Ronny was born May 16, 1952, in Ocilla, Georgia, to the late Shelby & Louisa McLeod Aycock. He graduated from Fitzgerald High School in 1970 and attended Atlanta Area Tech where he obtained a certification as a dental technician. Ronny founded and co-owned Colony City Dental Lab for 52 years. Ronny was a faithful member of Prospect Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, song leader, secretary and treasurer. He was also a member of the Gideons, speaking frequently at surrounding churches to raise money and awareness for Bibles. Ronny was the most caring husband, father, and Christian brother, always thinking of others and putting himself last. He enjoyed working with his hands, being outside, and he never sat still. Nothing brought him more joy than helping and giving a gift to someone in need. Everyone knew they could count on Ronny for anything. He was a member of the Fitz Cruise and Eat club, which met every 2nd Saturday. Mr. Aycock drove his 1957 Chevy Bel Air which was the first car he ever purchased. He maintained ownership of the car and had it restored in 2009.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Clarice Aycock; two sons: Berry Aycock and wife, Kimber of North Carolina and Doug Aycock and wife, Tori of South Carolina; five grandchildren: Cohen, Brooke, Graham, Carter, and Addison; a sister, Faye Kite Willingham & Danny of Ocilla and mother-in-law, Christine Wiley and her family of Irwin County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Vicki; a son, Ron; fathers-in-law, Jimmy Wiley, Leonard Paulk and his wife, Aline; brothers: Herman and Kenneth; and two sisters: Josie Holibough and Judy Aycock.
