Robert T. Holt, 89

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Robert T. Holt, age 89, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of the late Pauline M. (Reynolds) Holt, to whom he was wed for sixty-seven years at the time of her death on February 5, 2023.

Born in Attleboro, MA on October 8, 1935, he was a loving son of the late Thomas, Jr. and Beatrice (Bressard) Holt.

Bob grew up and was educated in the City of Attleboro. In 1973 he purchased the Mansfield Machinery Company on Rock Street in Mansfield, which he successfully owned and operated until 2005. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army Reserve, being honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant.

A resident of Mansfield since 1956, Bob was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield and the Mansfield Knights of Columbus. His other community events included being a former member and past president of the Mansfield Lions Club and a charter member of the Mansfield Lodge of Elks.

Bob’s favorite and happiest times were those spent in the presence of his loving family and at their home on Mashnee Island on Bourne. He always had a special interest in cars, enjoyed shell fishing and delighted in babysitting his grand dog “Tray”.

He is survived by his devoted children, Lynn H. McNatt and her husband Kevin of Mansfield and Cynthia M. Lawrence of Mansfield and her late husband William Lawrence. He was the cherished grandfather of Robert “Robby” Lawrence and his fiancé Sarah MacDonald of Mansfield. He was the dear brother of Beatrice Webb of California and her late husband John Webb. He was the much-loved brother-in-law of William Reynolds and his wife Pat of Wareham and is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will take place privately at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.

Visiting hours are omitted and those wishing may remember Robert with a donation in his memory made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215.
