Judith A. (King) Grady, 82, of Worcester died Tuesday, March 25th in the Jewish Health Care Center. Her husband of 54 years, James F. Grady died in 2019. She leaves her children, James E. Grady and his wife, Patricia of Rutland, Suellen M. Dean and her husband, Anthony of Shrewsbury, and Kevin M. Grady and his wife, Jean of Paxton; a brother, Paul H. King of Worcester; a sister, Ann Marie Wright of Holden; eight grandchildren, Kayla and her husband, Stephen, Christopher, Julia and her fiancé, David, Jamie, Erica, Ella, Olivia, and Lily; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant grandson, Nicholas; and a brother, Edward King.
A lifelong resident of Worcester, she was the daughter of Edward T. and Anna R. (Howard) King. She graduated from Commerce High School and went on to earn both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the former Worcester State Teacher’s College.
Judy dedicated 25 years of her career to the Worcester Public Schools, serving at various elementary schools throughout the system. She retired in 2002 from Grafton Street School, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and care for her students.
A member of Christ the King Church, Judy found great joy in her faith and community. She cherished spending her summers at the beach, particularly in West Yarmouth, where she created lasting memories with loved ones. In her retirement years, she and her husband, Jim enjoyed traveling to Fort Lauderdale by the Sea, embracing the beauty and relaxation of coastal life.
Above all, Judy treasured the time she spent with her family, who brought her immense joy and fulfillment. Her family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate and dedicated fifth-floor staff at the Jewish Health Care Center for the excellent care Judy received.
Judy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her kindness, and dedication, and love for her family will live on in their hearts forever.
Her funeral is Tuesday, April 1st from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, March 31st from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
