Anna (Lovett) Corley, a lifelong resident of Mission Hill, Boston, MA, and a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help (Mission Church), passed away at the age of 97, on March 26, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Moriarty) Lovett of Mission Hill. Beloved wife of the late William J. Corley, Sr. Devoted mother of Charles “Charlie” Corley and his wife Rosemary of Hudson, and William “Billy” Corley and his wife Kathleen of Reading. Loving Nana to Patricia Corley and her husband Robert Beach of Metuchen, NJ, Charles “Joe” Corley, Jr and his wife Tina Chapman of New York City, Katie Shaw and her husband Andrew of Reading, Marianne Connelly and her husband Michael of Reading, Kevin Corley and his wife Tracy of Waltham, and Dr. Christine Corley and her husband Chris Whalen of Groveland. Anna was a proud Great Nana of Avery, Kendall, Julia, Abby, Hannah, Ella, and Mia. Dear sister of Ann Murphy of Roslindale, the late Mary, Patrick, Thomas, Daniel and Charlie Lovett, Ellen Walsh and Mary Moore. Also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. She will be missed by the loving family of Mary and the late Steve Kutney of Salem, NH, Patricia Kiernan of Metuchen, NJ, and Brian and Shannon Collins of Plymouth.
Anna was part of the greatest generation and a graduate of the Mission Church High School class of 1945. She received her nursing degree in 1961 and worked at the Parker Hill Medical Center for years. She then received her Medical Secretary’s Degree in 1979 and worked as a secretary for the Boston Public Schools Madison Park Technical Vocational High School for over twenty years, retiring at the age of 75.
Anna was a Eucharistic Minister at Mission Church for 35 years. For 23 years Anna and William recorded the weekly Mission Church Novenas, presided over by the late Father Joseph Manton, C.Ss.R. and shown on Boston Catholic Television.
She was a member of the Harvard University Retirees Association (HURA) and a member of the Bo-Sox Club. She was kind, generous and loving, and the center of her family.
Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St., West Roxbury, on Monday, March 31st at 8:30am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in Boston’s Basilica Our Lady of Perpetual Help “Mission Church”, 1545 Tremont Street. Boston, MA 02120 at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
