HIRAM- David Bucknell, 71, passed away on March 24, 2025, with his family by his side at home, after a short battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
He was born in Portland, Maine on Aug. 19, 1953, the son of the late George and Charmaine Bucknell. He built his home in Hiram in 1978 where he raised his family.
During his High School years, he loved playing Basketball, Soccer and Baseball. After graduating from Sacopee Valley High School, he went on to College in Miami to pursue his love of baseball. He came home worked for Co-Hi Orchards, from there he became the Road Commissioner for the Town of Hiram.
He loved logging his property, which he was still doing until he got sick.
He loved his yearly trips to Mexico, and the Dominican Republic with his wife. He enjoyed the cookouts and the times he had with his children and grandchildren. His biggest love was going to Ragged Lake with Gary Taylor, Pete Darling and Jeff Colby, along with many more, deer hunting for the month of November.
He also loved to trap and Coon Hunt.
He predeceased by brothers Randy and George (Stubby) Bucknell, Jr. and Sister Cynthia Dunnells. David is survived by his Beloved wife of 47 years Linda (Day) Bucknell; children Tara Bucknell and partner Scott Flint, Jessica Bucknell and partner Ronald Richards and Son Jason Bucknell; Three grandsons Jacob, Logan and Julian. He is also survived by his Brother Michael Bucknell of Hilo, Hawaii. He has many Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday March 29, 2025, from 1-2 PM with a 2 PM service at the Poitras, Neal & York Funeral Home, 71 Maple St. Cornish. Burial will be held privately in the spring at the Kezar Falls Burial Ground.
